This is one of the biggest questions as a performer! We dance our whole life in a dance studio, then go to college for dance…

Then what?

There is no textbook on what we are supposed to do or where to go after college. And the answer is different for every single person! There are so many factors that go into where we need to go and where do we want to end up.

  • Can you sing and act?
  • Are you strictly a dancer?
  • What are your other special skills?
  • Do you need to be by family or in a big city?
  • Is having a family a priority?
  • Do you prefer being by the ocean or the mountains?

There are opportunities everywhere and each person’s success lies on a different scale. We all should have different goals because we have different interests and character types.

I remember thinking there are 2 options in my future.

  • New York City or
  • Los Angeles

I didn’t realize there are so many more paths and employment opportunities!

At Oklahoma City University, I took a class called Dance Workshop II with the wonderful Mrs. Jessica Fay. We started to dive into the different opportunities and I have a true passion to share this information with all other aspiring artists. I continue to speak to the students at OCU about this topic every year. I share my experiences and offer advice to the college Juniors. I only get 1 hour with these students when I could talk about it for days.

I will be addressing these details in my YouTube channel so please subscribe if you want advice on your future and path.
