Hey dancers! Welcome back to Dance Tips with Brittany!
Let’s continue on with our pirouette lesson. Last week we discussed the parallel passé position. Today I have a challenge for you.
CHALLENGE:
Hold the parallel passé position for 20 seconds. Fight to find that balance and perfect the position we discussed last week.
That’s right! You have to be able to maintain that position because when we add the turn, things want to shift… but you can’t let them!
Great! Let’s add the turn. Remember, we discussed the takeoff and landing in previous lessons. So today, we are starting in a parallel position and landing in parallel first position. Remember to maintain the beautiful passé we worked on!

Great job! The Answer to being able to sustain these pirouettes is to get stronger and use your muscles. So I challenge you to hold your passé for 20 seconds on each side… 5 times this week! There is your homework to improve your pirouettes!
